7 YESHUA
VALUES
It’s not about us but all about JESUS alone
We are not is the business of making money nor do we strive for fame. Everything we do, only points to One name; LORD JESUS CHRIST.
That is why we named our ministry ‘YESHUA’ because, at a concert/worship event, when the crowd cheers for us and shouts out the band name, they are actually calling out to the most powerful name under heaven and on the earth. This goes even further… did you know there is not a single song written by us that does not glorify the name of Jesus? Our one and only desire is to lift up the name of Jesus everywhere we go.
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ~ Philippians 2:9-11
Everyone participates
Yes, God has blessed some people with a special ministry or anointing but meanwhile, we are ALL called to lay our hands on the sick and pray for anyone in need. We do not believe that prayer is only effective when received from a famous worship leader/band/ministry/evangelist. In Mark chapter 16 Jesus told ALL His disciples, even the ones who doubted, to go out and make disciples. We encourage everyone to participate in the function of the kingdom of God and to develop a lifestyle of praying for others in Jesus’ name and to present every need before God. After all, at the end of the day, the band and preachers return home… but the Holy Spirit remains inside of you.
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” ~ Mark 16:17-18
We love to have FUN, but we take God very seriously
People come with a lot of baggage to church and we want to present worship as a time of rejoicing & fun! During our concerts and worship sessions, we encourage people to dance, shout and let it all go because we believe that that is the time where they can leave all their sorrows behind and rejoice in the Lord! However, in all of this, we take God very seriously and don’t show any disrespect whatsoever! Even in our fun and our ‘masti’ on stage, He is our King and He is to be honored & glorified.
Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow ~ Jeremiah 31:13
It’s not just about winning souls, it’s about making disciples.
As much as it is important to win souls for Jesus, it is equally important to turn those souls into disciples. That’s why we think that the time spent off stage is equally important to the time spent on stage. Disciples fellowship together, pray together and always encourage and edify one another to become more and more like Jesus. We are grateful for our pastors, leaders and mentors who have trained us as their disciples, and similarly, we are always looking to bring young people into our team who want to be trained and mentored by us. After all, we are all still in the learning phase.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. ~Matthew 28:19
We like to be in style, as we serve a stylish God.
Of course we too believe that true beauty comes from the inside, but at the same time, there is nothing wrong with looking your best at all times. We are the King’s representatives and ambassadors of Christ here on earth, so let’s dress and act like one. We serve a God who created the universe and displayed His creativity and style in the splendor of nature and its diversity. The Bible says that God doesn’t look at the outside… but men sometimes do. This means that along with keeping our hearts toward God, we can show the world that Christians are cool, stylish and awesome people who serve a cool, stylish and awesome God. Moreover, we love giving glory to Jesus our King even in the way we look which is why you will never see us wear anything with unbiblical signs or derogative prints. We love dressing up in cool clothes that promote bible verses, positive and encouraging messages and accessorizing ourselves too.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” ~ 1 Samuel 16:7
We strive for excellence, but relationships are more important
We look for excellence in everything we do, whether it is making music, writing songs or preparing messages. We believe that Christians can also be thorough professionals hence we strive to present the best in all that we do. However, relationships are more important that professionalism. Quality is necessary but relationships are valued more than results. We believe in making room for mistakes and second chances and the more we spend time in God’s presence, the more we will become like Him, transformed into His image.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~ Colossians 3:23-24
Worship, Evangelism and Justice go hand in hand
We want to engage with the world around us and not escape it through creating a Christian sub-culture. We believe that worship, evangelism and justice are equally exclusive. Yeshua is much more than just a music ministry. Firstly, the reason we got into music is not only to praise Jesus, but also to spread His gospel through a melodious way acceptable to many across the globe. Hardly anyone would ever remember a full sermon but songs last forever. In areas where possession of a bible is illegal and preaching of the gospel is banned, a worship song works as a secretive method to minister to people which is easily available in different formats oblivious to the world.
Secondly, the Bible, apart from worshipping and evangelizing, tells us to care for the poor, the broken-hearted, the marginalized and the dispossessed and to stand for justice as an expression of the Kingdom of God. Did you know that Yeshua is very closely connected with several other ministries that work towards feeding the poor, sheltering widows, and caring for victims of injustice?
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? ~ Isaiah 85:6-7
